HOW DOES IT WORK? - X2 TW CLEAN'S X2 GARMENT SYSTEM DUAL GROUND PATH U.S. PATENT # 5,440,444 After 3 years of intensive testing, research and development, TW Clean has perfected a cleanroom (CL 100 compatible) ESD electrically groundable garment system that grounds the garment and the wearer. The TW Clean X2 garment system is a patented, uniquely designed garment system that is electrically groundable and compatible with "dual continuous monitoring". "Dual monitors" are manufactured by several companies (Semtronics, 3M, NOVX, etc.) and are becoming the preferred method of continuous monitoring. Up until the introduction of TW Clean's patented X2 garment system, the operator could be included in the "loop" only by the use of a special "dual wrist strap". The unique design of the X2 allows for both the garment and the wearer to be included in the monitoring loop. Here's how it works - The TW Clean X2 garment makes contact with the human operator at the two wrist cuffs. One cuff is connected to the fabric of the garment, and the other is insulated from the garment and "wired" to the monitor snap, through an isolated pathway. The other snap is connected to the garment fabric, and is considered the grounding snap. The grounding snap grounds the entire garment, and through the ground cuff grounds the body of the human operator. The monitor cuff and its monitor snap allow constant resistance monitors to measure the electrical continuity of the garment, the human operator, and their connection to ground.
So, taken as a whole the garment system electrical path is from the ground snap, through the fabric of
the garment to the grounding cuff, through the human operator to the monitor cuff, and to the monitor snap.

Most dual monitors available today are preset by the manufacturer with resistance ranges of 10 Megohms and
35 Megohms. Due to the series resistance that is seen by the monitor, we recommend a monitor that is set at 35 Megohms.
TW Clean Inc.'s "X2" dual-path garments are available in your choice of styles and fabric colors. These
patented garments come with a 100 wash guarantee. That means that the garments will meet the National
ESD Association STM 2.1-1997 for static control garments through 100 washes. |

COLORS - FABRIC TW Clean garments are all made of an exclusive twill weave of polyester and carbon, with dual grid pattern at 7mm intervals. Standard colors include white(1), light blue (2), teal (3), apple green (4), navy blue (5), light yellow (6), pink (7), gray (8). These comfortable fabrics and garments are tested to be compatible with CLASS 100 requirements. TW Clean garments meet CLASS 100 Cleanroom standards for particle control and show superior Body Box Test (IEST-RP-CC003.2,10.2) results when benchmarked against popular Class 10 cleanroom garments. All TW Clean garments are ESD groundable. |

MONITOR COMPATIBILITY TW Clean's patented dual-path-to-ground garments and garment systems are compatible with all dual continuous monitors and monitor systems. The convenient location of the dual grounding connections allows for a "hands-free" operation, without teathering of the arm. The system has the effectiveness of a dual wrist strap with the added benefit of including the garment system "in the loop" for grounding and monitoring purposes.
GUARANTEE TW Clean's Garment Guarantee is Unsurpassed in the Industry TW Clean's garments are guaranteed to meet the static control and electrical grounding performance requirements of the National ESD Association's Standard Test Method for Garments (STM2.1-1997) for a minimum of 100 washes, or two years, whichever comes first, under normal wearing and washing conditions. Defects arising from abnormal wear and tear, as determined by industry standards, will void this guarantee.
Should a TW Clean garment fail to meet the requirements of the National ESD Association as described
above, TW Clean agrees to repair or replace the garments, at their option, at no charge to the customer.
LAUNDRY INFORMATION TW Clean's products are compatible with most cleanroom laundry services which conform to practices supporting CLASS 100 garment processing.
